Getting Around Evanston on Race Day

A few of the main streets of downtown Evanston will be rerouted on Sunday, July 20, as the city hosts the 2008 ENH Grand Prix of Cycling Map. The map below shows:

• the race course (closed street sections marked in red)
• additional street closings for rider and spectator safety (tan)
• the detour for Chicago Ave., Sherman Ave. and Orrington Ave. (green)
• the CTA (purple) and Metra (blue) lines and stations
• and several nearby parking garages.

Restaurants and stores will be open for business (with the exception of those which might normally be closed on a Sunday). Traffic seeking access to the Hotel Orrington will be allowed east-bound on Church Street and across the course under police supervision
